Approx 9 miles from Derby and 6
miles from Notts. Several partners run the Ilkeston Community
Hospital with other GPs in the town with over 90 beds.
Routine gynae, general surgery and orthopaedics are done.
Partners take it in turns to visit the wards and man the casualty
department which is a 24-hour commitment, but led by Emergency
Nurse Practitioners (EMP). Strong links with the Nottingham
Medical School, with students attending from various pre-clinical
and clinical years. The Practice is also applying to be
included in the teaching of Derby Medical Students. |
