East Derbyshire GP Coop covers
weekday evenings and overnight. Registrar shadows partner for Coop
shifts initially but by last four months of attachment is doing own
shifts with supervision. Roughly seven overnight shifts and twelve
evening shifts during the year’s attachment. Weekend days till 22:00
are covered by a local rota of Heanor practices. The Registrar works
one weekend every six weeks on average under the supervision of one of
the partners.

The Practice is computerised, medic
records are no longer used. Heanor is a small town situated
approximately 10 miles from Derby, and has a local 24 bedded
community hospital with a minor injuries area. The Practice
has access to these facilities. |
